Jessica Gore, who goes by the name MothMagick online, is a polymer clay jewelry artist that creates wearable art inspired by nature and fantasy. She is most known for her spirit animal jewelry that uses a variety of different stones paired up with sculpted animal faces and embellished with details like mushrooms, moth wings, leaves, and moss.

What got you interested in jewelry making?

Well, initially I started off as a wand shop and had no intentions of doing jewelry at the time. I worked in a crystal shop and wanted to figure out some sort of craft I could do with stones, and I saw a lot of people doing really cool things with polymer clay and I figured that was a good route for me to go down. Eventually I got a bit tired of doing wands and felt very limited with them, so I started doing jewelry and people really loved it so that's been what I've done ever since.

How long have you been sculpting and creating jewelry for?

I started sculpting at some point in 2014 and opened my shop the same year, just a few months after.

Which Line (Doll, Sculpt, Deco) and colors of Cosclay are you using and why?
I am mostly using the Doll line specifically in the warm beige color. I find that the beige is the perfect texture and takes details beautifully. I love how easy it is to color with pigment powders, but I also recently started playing with the Deco line and that's been a lot of fun!

How has the inclusion of Cosclay into your artistic tool belt aided your creative process?

The inclusion of Cosclay has changed everything for me. It has allowed me to make my usual designs so much better and stronger. For example, the collars I have been making for years have had some flex, but now they're extremely flexible with Cosclay and it makes for a much sturdier piece. The best part of it though is that I have been able to make things like bracelets for the first time, and I'm always amazed at how much flexibility they have. It's made me want to also improve my sculpting abilities and not play it so safe all the time. I can be much more creative now.

Where can I see more of your work?

Instagram is the best place to see all of my work. I can't keep up with social media much aside from that so that's the only place I really post a lot. My Instagram is just "mothmagick":
